International Week is Just Around the Corner: Focus on Communication and Cooperation

07-04-2026

On April 13–17, the 10th International Week will take place at Šiaulių valstybinė kolegija / Higher Education Institution, bringing together members of the academic community from the European Union and partner countries.

This year’s event, titled WE ARE COMMUNICATION, emphasizes that communication is a part of our everyday lives. We all constantly communicate – through words, gestures, and emotions. During International Week, this title serves as a reminder that through communication we can overcome cultural differences, strengthen mutual understanding, and build a sense of community.

This year, guests are expected from Albania, Azerbaijan, the Czech Republic, Indonesia, Spain, Kosovo, Croatia, Latvia, Poland, Romania, Georgia, Turkiye, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan.

During the week, presentations by visiting institutions and the faculties of Šiaulių valstybinė kolegija / Higher Education Institution will take place, offering an opportunity to learn more about the institution’s activities, study programmes, and opportunities. Elements of cultural parts of the countries will be introduced during the “Cultural Booth” event. International guests will participate in various educational activities, creative workshops, and seminars, as well as get acquainted with Šiauliai. Trips to the Hill of Crosses and Biržai are also planned.

At the same time, meetings of the members of the European University Alliance NEOLAiA “PR & Communication Hub” will be held, where challenges in the field of communication and possible solutions will be discussed.

One of the main goals of the event is to understand the importance of communication not only in a professional environment but also in everyday life, to promote cooperation among representatives of different cultures, and to strengthen cultural and academic exchange among students and lecturers from various countries. It is a great opportunity to broaden horizons, deepen knowledge, gain international experience, and establish new connections.

The International Relations Office invites members of the institutions’ community to join the following activities:

– On April 13, from 10:15 am to 1 pm, presentations of guests/universities will take place in the Central Building room 009.

– On April 13, from 2 pm, a cultural fair will be held in the First Building room 212, where participants will be able not only to interact with guests and discuss cooperation opportunities but also to taste traditional treats they have brought.

– Members of the academic community are encouraged to join meetings organized in the faculties (according to the programme).
