Šiauliai State University of Applied Sciences started a new academic year
The celebration of the beginning of the academic year brought together students, teachers, staff and friends of the higher education institution.
On September 1st Šiauliai State University of Applied Sciences not only announced the beginning of a new academic year, but also celebrated its 20th anniversary.
The head of the higher education institution Dr. Lina Tamutienė welcomed the UAS community and guests to the solemn event and emphasized that Šiauliai State University of Applied Sciences is proud to carry out multidisciplinary studies in the region, focused on practical activities, fostering contacts with employers and patrons while successfully strengthening links between studies and science. This year more than 600 freshmen are starting their studies at the UAS, thus in total about 1500 students will study together with almost 40 Erasmus+ students.
Šiauliai State University of Applied Sciences trains specialists needed for the whole Lithuania. Representatives of the partners of the higher education institution came to the celebration and talked about the need of such specialists and their perspectives.
The opening event of the academic year was hosted by UAS alumni. Everybody took part in the flash quiz and got prizes with the attributes of Šiauliai State University of Applied Sciences. The festive atmosphere was continued by the songs performed by Audronė Bagūnaitė, a student of the Organization Communication and Marketing study programme.
