One Week, Many Connections: From Ukraine to Lithuania with Erasmus+
From May 5 to 9, 2025, Dr. Andriy Pekhnyk from Ivan Franko National University of Lviv (Ukraine) visited Šiaulių valstybinė kolegija as part of the Erasmus+ teaching mobility programme. His visit was aligned with the institution’s International Week, where he actively contributed both as a lecturer and conference speaker.
During his stay, Dr. Pekhnyk delivered a lecture to students in the Accounting study programme on the topic of current global geopolitical and geoeconomic challenges. Additionally, on May 8, he presented at the international scientific conference “Brave New World Ahead: Geopolitics and Geoeconomics”, held under the broader event “Higher Education for Sustainable Development of a Smart Region.”
As part of his academic exchange, Dr. Pekhnyk also visited the Department of Management and Communication, where he engaged in meaningful discussions about global hotspots and their impact on the world economy. In parallel, opportunities for joint research and scientific collaboration were explored, opening possibilities for future cooperation between both institutions.
Reflecting on his experience, Dr. Pekhnyk shared:
“The International Week was absolutely exciting, the atmosphere was incredibly warm and friendly, and we all really enjoyed it. For me it was a little harder task, because I had to combine the International Week activities with my own Erasmus lectures and participation in the conference, but the International Relations Office team did a great job to make it possible – thank you once more!”
The visit not only strengthened institutional ties but also emphasized the value of academic exchange in fostering global awareness and resilience in higher education.
