Neolaia network partner visited Šiauliai State University of Applied Sciences

On October 12–13th Ida Andersson-Norrie, a representative of Örebro University (Sweden), visited Šiauliai State University of Applied Sciences.

Šiauliai State University of Applied Sciences and the University of Örebro belong to the Neolaia network - which units higher education institutions in seven other country regions. In a meeting with the Director of the University, Dr Lina Tamutienė, and Deputy Director Dr Nedas Jurgaitis, discussed the cooperation between the Šiauliai State University of Applied Sciences and the University of Örebro and its involvement in the activities of the alliance.

During the meetings, administrative staff presented Šiauliai State University of Applied Sciences, and Ida Andersson-Norrie presented Örebro University. The implementation of the Erasmus+ exchange programme, and other areas of cooperation, were discussed at the meetings.

The representative from the University of Örebro observed the laboratories and study bases of the Department of Engineering Sciences. During the meetings with the heads of the Departments of Management and Communication and Business and Accounting, the study programmes implemented in the departments were discussed.

Ida Andersson-Norrie also visited laboratories at the Faculty of Health Care and student dormitory areas. The guest also visited the famous places of Šiauliai.

During the visit, the lecturers and staff of Šiauliai State University of Applied Sciences were invited to come to Örebro University and get acquainted with the laboratories, study bases and activities. Hopefully, the expanded cooperation will encourage new challenges and justify the name of the constantly learning community.

Director of Šiauliai State University of Applied Sciences Dr Lina Tamutienė is pleased that this visit is beneficial for both higher education institutions: seeking to develop internationalization opportunities, give meaning to participation in the NEOLAiA network through joint entrepreneurship promotion and mobility activities, share experiences in improving teachers' didactic competencies, sustainability and equal opportunities.
