My Experience with Erasmus + in Lithuania
Hello! I am Tea Cenolli, a student from the University of New York Tirana, and I recently completed a semester at Šiaulių valstybinė kolegija in Lithuania within Erasmus+ programme. It was an eye-opening experience that introduced me to a fascinating culture I knew very little about.
One of the highlights was participating in the Užgavėnės festival, which is a local celebration marking the end of winter and welcoming spring. I got to make a clay mask, an activity tied to this tradition, which was both fun and enlightening. I also got to try the pink soup and Cepelinai (which I believe is the Lithuanians greatest creation).
Throughout my stay, I bonded with international students, and we explored many beautiful places. We visited Vilnius, Kaunas, and Klaipeda, experiencing the charm and history of each city. We didn’t stop there! Our adventures extended to other Baltic gems like Riga and Jurmala in Latvia and the medieval beauty of Tallinn in Estonia. We even made a memorable trip to Gdańsk, Poland, where we explored its rich history and picturesque streets.
I also had a chance to participate in the trip to Naisiai during „International Week“. I thoroughly enjoyed Lithuanian greenery and many different cultures.
The Erasmus+ programme opened doors to experiences I never imagined, enriching my life with new friendships and perspectives. It’s an opportunity I’m truly grateful for, and it has left me with lasting memories and a deeper appreciation for different cultures.
