Important discussions at the UAS Council meeting
On April 5th the Council of Šiauliai State University of Applied Sciences met to discuss issues important for higher education institution.
Director dr. Lina Tamutienė presented results of the UAS activity and the perspectives of strengthening the network of Universities of Applied Sciences.
Deputy Director dr. Nedas Jurgaitis presented the research requirements for studies and the possibilities of their implementation. The proposed amendments of the Law on Science and Studies place high standards for scientific activities of colleges, which will be assessed by international experts. In future, the first cycle college studies will have to be based on professional practice and scientific research of at least a satisfactory level as well as experimental development.
In order to prepare for future requirements, the UAS is developing a long-term package of measures to strengthen scientific activities and to enhance the integration of studies and science.
