Erasmus+ students: getting to know the study and city
In September, 49 students started their Erasmus+ studies at Šiauliai State University of Applied Sciences.
During the first days, Erasmus+ students met with mentors, got acquainted with the new environment, study process, and the city. Students describe the city as compact, cosy, quiet, and very green.
In September, Šiauliai State University of Applied Sciences welcomed 49 students from Turkey, Spain, Italy, and Russia. Erasmus+ students started their studies in Finance, General Practice Nursing, Information Systems Technologies, Physiotherapy, Cosmetology, Office administration, Social Work, Transport Logistics Technologies, Technical Exploitation of Automobiles, Software engineering, Organizational Communication and Marketing study programs.
In September, the International Relations Department organized three lectures for the Erasmus+ students!
The first lecture was on Intercultural Communication by Prof. dr. Rasa Pocevičiene. During which, students learned about the Lithuanian culture, traditions, and others.
The second lecture was with Šiauliai Policijos Bendruomenės Pareigūnai (Community Police Officers). In the meeting / In which, students learned general rules about behaviour in the city, punishments for certain crimes, etc.
The third lecture was on Psychological preparation by lecturer Laima Milkintaitė. During the meeting, students talked about how they are feeling in Lithuania, what knowledge about Lithuania they had before coming, their first impression about Lithuania and its people, how they now see Lithuania and Erasmus+ studies.
On October 2nd, the International Relations Department participated in a dinner organized by Erasmus+ students, during which students from Turkey presented their Turkish dishes. Students introduced stuffed Turkish peppers, Cacik (cold Turkish soup), Sütlaç (sweet rice porridge), and more. Erasmus+ students tasted Lithuanian dessert Šakotis.
Šiauliai State University of Applied Sciences is glad that every year more and more students choose Šiauliai and Šiauliai State University of Applied Sciences for their studies.
