Erasmus+ Social Space – A Place for Intercultural Connections and Creative Ideas

25-09-2024

On September 23, the Erasmus+ social space officially opened and is now ready to welcome visitors on the 4th floor of the central building at Šiaulių valstybinė kolegija / Higher Education Institution.

The opening event coincided with Orientation Week, welcoming Erasmus+ students with games, socializing, and opportunities to get acquainted with one another. This semester, we’re hosting 29 students from a diverse range of countries, including Albania, the Czech Republic, Spain, Italy, Romania, Georgia, and Turkiye. We hope each of them enjoys not only an enriching academic journey but also a chance to discover Lithuania and its culture!

The social space is furnished with a coffee area where students can enjoy coffee or tea during breaks. Additionally, board games—primarily in English—are available, catering to both Lithuanian and international students. A book corner invites students to exchange books, supporting sustainability initiatives and encouraging a shared love of reading. This area is not just for relaxation but serves as a vibrant hub for creative meetups and idea exchanges,” says Head of International Relations Office, Augustina Norkutė, in describing the new Erasmus+ social space.

One of the main goals of this space is to provide a welcoming place for HEI students to spend time together and engage in various informal activities. It offers an excellent opportunity to build intercultural dialogue, make new connections, and share experiences.

We invite everyone to stop by, try the games, and connect with others! The leisure space is open to all—an ideal spot to broaden your horizons and make new friends!
