Erasmus+ internship was an unforgettable experience

27-10-2025

As an International Relations student, taking part in the Erasmus+ internship programme at Šiaulių valstybinė kolegija / Higher Education Institution in Lithuania was an incredibly rewarding experience. My internship offered a new and practical dimension to my Erasmus+ journey by allowing me to work directly within an international academic environment.

During my traineeship at the International Relations Office, I performed various administrative tasks, including handling student inquiries, supporting event organization, and assisting with exchange programmes. Through this experience, I improved my organizational and communication skills, learned to adapt quickly to new environments, and gained practical insights into how international cooperation in higher education fosters mutual understanding and global connectivity.

I had the honor of completing my internship under the supervision of Ms. Guoda Kačinskaitė, whose exceptional mentorship and consistent guidance played a pivotal role in shaping my professional development. I also had the opportunity to work alongside Mrs. Eglė Lingaitienė and Mr. Dovydas Buivys, whose expertise and collaborative spirit contributed significantly to a productive and inspiring work environment. Their professionalism, encouragement, and dedication to international cooperation made my internship truly enriching and memorable.

Living in Lithuania was both peaceful and fulfilling. The country’s welcoming atmosphere made it a comfortable and inspiring place to live. I enjoyed exploring Lithuania’s history and natural beauty. To future students considering an Erasmus+ internship, my advice is to embrace the experience wholeheartedly: be open to challenges, immerse yourself in the local culture, and take every opportunity to learn and grow both personally and professionally.

Overall, my Erasmus+ internship at Šiaulių valstybinė kolegija / Higher Education Institution was an unforgettable experience. It not only enhanced my professional competencies but also strengthened my passion for international relations and cross-cultural collaboration. I would highly recommend this opportunity to anyone eager to combine professional growth with cultural exploration.
