ERASMUS+ Internship in Cyprus: A Journey of Professional and Personal Growth.
Danilas Kava, a student of the Information Systems Technology program, shares his experience of an internship abroad.
I had the opportunity to complete my Erasmus+ traineeship at the University of Nicosia in Cyprus, where I spent more than two months gaining professional and international experience. It was a valuable period that allowed me to develop not only professionally, but also personally.
During my traineeship, I gained experience in an international IT environment and had the opportunity to learn more about modern technologies and approaches used in the field. I improved my digital and professional skills, became more confident in communicating in English, and learned how to adapt to a different working and cultural environment. Being part of an international university also gave me a better understanding of how people from different backgrounds communicate, study and work together.
Living in Nicosia was also an important part of the experience. Cyprus has a very interesting combination of cultures, history and Mediterranean lifestyle. During my free time, I explored the island and visited places such as Limassol, Paphos, Ayia Napa and the Troodos Mountains. Each part of Cyprus was different, from beaches and coastal cities to traditional villages and mountain landscapes. These trips helped me discover much more about the country and made my Erasmus+ experience especially memorable.
Living abroad for more than two months also taught me to be more independent, responsible and flexible. I had to organise my everyday life, communicate with people from different countries and adapt to situations that were completely new to me. I also met many interesting people and created memories that I will keep long after the end of my traineeship.
Overall, I am very grateful for the opportunity to participate in the Erasmus+ programme. This traineeship gave me valuable international experience, helped me improve my English and professional skills, and made me more confident about living and working abroad in the future.
I would definitely encourage other students to take part in Erasmus+. It is a great opportunity to gain professional experience while discovering a new country, meeting new people and becoming more independent. My advice is simple: be open to new experiences, communicate as much as possible, explore the country and make the most of every opportunity.
