An Unforgettable Experience in Šiauliai – International Staff Week
From April 13 to 17, a representative of Caucasus University, Tornike Purtseladze, visited Šiauliai State College under the Erasmus+ training mobility programme and participated in the International Week activities.
Here is how the guest from Georgia describes the week spent in Šiauliai:
„The week in the middle of April was one of the most memorable for me, as I had the opportunity to attend an International Staff Week in Šiauliai, Lithuania, where almost 40 participants from 13 countries took part.
Throughout the week, we had the chance to learn about the university’s academic programs, explore the campuses, meet with administrative staff, and participate in a variety of engaging and interactive workshops.
At the same time, I discovered a city distinguished by its tranquility, greenery, and unique atmosphere. One of the most remarkable experiences was visiting the Hill of Crosses – a place that evokes indescribable emotions. Seeing hundreds of thousands of crosses gathered in one place creates a truly powerful impression, especially knowing that each one carries its own story.
It was particularly emotional for me to raise my country’s flag on this hill. This act held symbolic meaning, as the Georgian flag features five crosses.
This experience also gave me the opportunity to meet many interesting people, taste local cuisine, and visit a number of fascinating places.
Finally, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the amazing team who organized this week so excellently – you have my deepest respect and appreciation.”
