The University of Salerno (Italy), the University of Jaén (Spain), the University of Nicosia (Cyprus) and Šiaulių valstybinė kolegija / Higher Education Institution (Lithuania) have signed the Cooperation Agreement establishing a new International Joint Bachelor’s Degree titled “Science, Management and Politics in Global Health.”

The Programme was developed within the NEOLAiA European University Alliance and will be taught in English. It is research-based and uses innovative, learner-centered teaching and assessment methods.

Šiaulių valstybinė kolegija / Higher Education Institution will join the Programme as a Mobility Partner, offering students the opportunity to spend part of their studies in Lithuania and gain additional international academic experience.

A Programme focused on Global Health

The new Programme responds to one of today’s most pressing global challenges: Global Health.

It combines health sciences, management, international policy, data analysis and intercultural communication in an interdisciplinary perspective.

International mobility will be a key element of the programme. During their studies, students will spend semesters at partner universities in Italy, Spain, Cyprus and Lithuania, developing a global perspective and engaging with international and intercultural environments.

The Programme prepares students for professional roles in international organisations, healthcare management, social services and policy-making, NGOs or the healthcare sector. The Programme will also provide an excellent foundation for further studies in public health or related fields.

A milestone for the NEOLAiA Alliance

For Šiaulių valstybinė kolegija / Higher Education Institution, participation in the Programme marks its first involvement in a Joint Bachelor’s Degree within the Alliance.

“Integrating Lithuania into the mobility pathway will allow students to experience a dynamic regional innovation ecosystem and a practice-based academic environment, strengthening intercultural competence and employability“, said dr. Lina Tamutienė, Director of Šiaulių valstybinė kolegija / Higher Education Institution.

For the University of Salerno, the Programme represents an important step forward in international academic cooperation.

“This Joint Bachelor’s Degree represents an added value both for the Alliance and for the community at the University of Salerno. It demonstrates the transformative power of internationalisation and interdisciplinarity in addressing complex global challenges,” said Virgilio D'Antonio, Rector of the University of Salerno.

At the University of Nicosia, the initiative marks the launch of the institution’s first Joint Bachelor’s Programme within the Alliance.

“We are very proud that within NEOLAiA we will now launch our first Joint Bachelor’s Programme. The structured mobility in Cyprus, Italy, Spain and Lithuania will enrich students’ learning experience and enhance their employability,” said Philippos Pouyioutas, Rector of the University of Nicosia.

The University of Jaén sees the Agreement as an important step towards deeper European academic integration.

“This Joint Degree opens an unprecedented door to global education, where structural mobility and international collaboration become the very essence of learning,” said Nicolás Ruiz Reyes, Rector of the University of Jaén.
