Why in Šiaulių valstybinė kolegija?
Students learn to work with modern physiotherapeutic testing equipment to evaluate and improve functions of the cardiovascular and respiratory systems, as well as the neuromuscular system. During practical workshops, future physiotherapists work with real patients, engage in the evaluation of their physical and functional capabilities, and rehabilitative treatment processes. More than 1000 hours are allocated for professional practice in hospitals, rehabilitation centers, children's educational institutions, hospice and nursing institutions. Students can choose one of the interests fields – physiotheraphy for athletes or people with disabilities.
Further possible career paths
Access to professional activity | Graduates can work in public and private personal health care or other institutions providing personal health services to patients of all ages (hospitals, medical rehabilitation and sanatorium treatment institutions, pre-school and special education institutions, institutions providing early rehabilitation, wellness and sports centres). |
Access to further study | Graduates can continue second cycle studies in the field of rehabilitation, in the group of business and public management study fields in accordance with the procedure established by the higher education institution. |

Objectives of a study programme and intended learning outcomes
The aim of the Programme – to train a physiotherapy specialist capable to work independently or in a multidisciplinary team, to carry out examination of a person's functional and physical condition, assessment, treatment by movement with physiological and physical factors, to promote a healthy lifestyle and carry out preventive activities, to maintain and restore optimal physical and functional capacities, to follow science-based clinical practice, professional values and a holistic approach.

Knows and understands human anatomy, physiology, pathology, patient examination, evaluation, treatment methods, ergonomic principles of motion management and healthy lifestyle depending on the patient's age, physical and functional characteristics. 2. Is able to apply the key principles of ethics, confidential information, use of information technologies, professional communication, social responsibility in practical activities and research field, taking into account human natural rights and national health care policy. |
