A memorable Erasmus+ teaching experience at Šiaulių valstybinė kolegija
Two teachers, Tea Todua and Ketevan Nanobashvili, arrived at the Informatics Science Department of Šiaulių Valstybinė Kolegija from the 17th to the 21st of February. Representing Caucasus International University (Georgia), they conducted lectures on Arduino Programming for Informatics Science students.
The teachers shared their experiences about the mobility:
„My Erasmus+ teaching visit at Šiaulių Valstybinė Kolegija was an enriching experience. From the very first moment, I was warmly welcomed by the faculty and students, creating an atmosphere of collaboration and academic exchange.
The institution's commitment to quality education and internationalization was evident throughout my visit. Engaging with students and faculty members allowed me to share knowledge, exchange ideas, and learn from diverse perspectives. The interactive discussions and the students enthusiasm made the teaching sessions truly enjoyable.
Beyond academics, exploring the beautiful city of Šiauliai was a delightful experience. The rich cultural heritage, historical landmarks, and warm hospitality of the local community added another layer of appreciation to my visit.
This Erasmus+ teaching mobility has not only broadened my professional horizons but has also strengthened the academic ties between our institutions. I am grateful for this opportunity and look forward to future collaborations.“ - Ketevan Nanobashvili
“My recent Erasmus+ teaching mobility experience at Šiauliai Valstybinė Kolegija in Lithuania was one of the most memorable events of my life. I had the honor of delivering lectures on Arduino Programming to Lithuanian students who demonstrated exceptional enthusiasm and a genuine thirst for knowledge. Their motivation made the teaching experience particularly gratifying and reinforced the value of international educational exchanges.
Interactions with the International Relations Office (IRO) staff were especially memorable. I would like to extend my special appreciation to the hospitable and professional IRO team—Augustina, Guoda, and Dovydas—whose kindness and assistance made my stay comfortable and productive. I would also like to express my heartfelt thanks to one of our hosts, the very kind and beautiful Lithuanian woman, Dalia Rudyte, for her warm hospitality.
The opportunity to share experiences with academic personnel was exceptionally fruitful. Interestingly, during these meetings, I experienced something akin to déjà vu—a sense that I had met these colleagues before, despite this being our first encounter. It felt as if I had known them from a past experience, which created an immediate sense of connection that facilitated our professional exchanges.
I was thoroughly impressed by the modern engineering laboratories at the institution. The state-of-the-art facilities demonstrate the college’s commitment to providing high-quality technical education and practical training for its students.
Beyond the academic environment, Šiauliai itself proved to be a charming destination. The calm and beautiful town created a perfect backdrop for my teaching mobility.
Lithuania is a country that calls my homeland "Sakartvelo" rather than Georgia. Everywhere I went, I felt the warmth of the Lithuanian people and their appreciation for my country. Some even stopped me on the street to ask, Sakartvelo? This recognition was incredibly touching and created an immediate bond.
Lithuania is truly a country I would return to again and again. The warmth of its people, the beauty of its landscapes, and the richness of the cultural connections have left an indelible mark on my heart.” - Tea Todua
