Motor Transport Electronics

A large part of automobiles functions are inseparable from their electrical and electronic systems, which must be maintained and, if necessary, repaired. Study programme trains qualified specialists capable of installing electronic control systems for vehicles, to diagnose, maintain and repair vehicles' electronic and mechatronic systems as well as choose innovative technological and organizational tools.
It is interdisciplinary study programme developing special skills in electronic and transport engineering study fields. UAS has modern automobile technical maintenance and diagnostics workshops.
Graduates of this programme have already presented their own handcrafted vehicles – a sports car, electric recreational karting, electric scooter, four-wheel electric karting - as final projects.

Access to professional activity Graduate will be able to work as an engineer, a foreman, a head of automobile repair and exploitation company, auto service, automobile technical inspection center or could set up a private business and run it.

Graduate will be able to continue studies at universities under the programmes in the study fields of the group of Engineering Sciences in the study fields of Electronics Engineering and Transport Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Production Engineering, etc.

Objectives of a study programme and intended learning outcomes

Objective of a study programme – to train qualified specialists capable of installing electronic management systems, running diagnostics, maintaining and repairing electronic and mechatronic systems while choosing innovative technologies and organisational means, ensuring quality and responsibility for professional activity outcomes.

Learning outcomes

 
To acquire skills and abilities:
  1. To know and apply methods, techniques of parameter calculations while using technical aids and their management systems.
  2. To know the automobile construction, its main components, specific use and development tendencies.
  3. To assess the materials, characteristics of components of automobile mechatronic systems and their application in engineering solutions.
  4. To know the possibilities for information application in automotive transport.

  2. To prepare the technological process of electronic control

 

  1. To use various information sources and techniques for data search. 
  2. To carry out tests of automotive electronic systems while using laboratory and diagnostic equipment; evaluate the results and present conclusions.

 

  1. To exploit, diagnose and repair electronic and mechatronic automobile systems.
  2. To ensure the work of electronic systems reducing environmental pollution and enhancing transport safety.
  3. To understand the principles of work organization of automotive electronic systems’ exploitation, diagnostics, repair and installation.

  1. To communicate with specialists and clients while dealing with professional challenges, being responsible for the quality of activity and studying independently in changing professional activity field.
